ORGANIZATIONAL HISTORY
American Vision Foundation was founded by Licensed Optician Carlos Izquierdo who has been working in the field for over 15 years. Over that period he noted that eye exams and eyeglasses remain beyond the reach of the neediest in our community. With the help of Dr.Jose Macedo and other professionals we have joined forces to make an impact in the lives of those who need vision care.
PROGRAM GOALS & OBJECTIVES
The goal of American Vision Foundation is to join forces with licensed vision care providers in our community and have them commit to donating eye exams to those in need. The foundation will then provide the eyeglasses for these patients.
Through this vehicle we can extend our reach to a larger portion of the population. For example; there are over 3,500 Florida Licensed Optometrist, if they donate just 1 eye exam per month we can help 35,000 patients each year.
