MISSION
To provide eyeglasses and eye exams to individuals worldwide!
NARRATIVE
American Vision Foundation is a community based non-profit that intervenes primarily in two population sub-sets – children/adolescents and the elderly. Eye exams early and often for children/adolescents foster good habits and are excellent detection mechanisms for a host of future infirmities. Intervention at the elderly stage can detect life-threatening issues that will more than likely be extremely costly to treat down the line.
ABOUT US
Carlos Izquierdo, President

Mr. Carlos Izquierdo holds the president position of the organization. Mr. Izquierdo is a licensed optician with an MBA and nonprofit certification from Harvard. He has been involved with vision care since childhood when his parents owned optical stores and has a keen interest in helping patients who suffer from inappropriate visual acuity due to the inability to obtain eye glasses related to low income.
Dr. Jose Macedo, Vice-President

Dr. Macedo is an accomplished optometrist with over twenty fiver years of experience. He specializes in vision therapy and employs a number of treatment processes to improve vision function. His talents include a broad range of developmental and rehabilitative treatment programs which he individually prescribes to remediate specific sensory, motor, and/or vision perceptual dysfunctions.
Dr.Maria Gonzalez, Director

Dr. Gonzalez is an accomplished optometrist with over twenty fiver years of experience. She employs a number of treatment processes to improve vision function. She individually prescribes to remediate specific sensory, motor, and/or vision perceptual dysfunctions.
Carolina Melendez, Secretary
Carolina Melendez is dedicated to the innovation of community development by promoting the need of vision care services for our under privilege families in the city of Miami. Mrs. Melendez creates partnerships with businesses to support local schools and community centers by helping to deliver vision screenings to needed kids. Mrs. Melendez is a leader within our communities and is consistently interacting with community leaders to continue the development of American Vision Foundation and therefore continue the support to promote the importance of 20/20 vision in our communities.
